Fiber optic communication links are systems used for transmitting information and communication through an optical fiber in a bandwidth. Optical fiber is one of the most advanced and reliable media for data transmission which is capable to transmit a signal to long distances with minimal accuracy losses.
ESS services include installation of the following types of optical fibers:
- ADSS (ALL Dielectric Self Supporting), aerial cable installed in poles and pipes;
- SWA (steel wire armoured fiber optic cable), underground cable armoured with round steel wire installed in trenches.
The process of fiber optic cables installation consists of the following stages:
1) Preliminary stage (developing Method Statement (MS) and other design documents, arranging organizational matters on interaction with the Customer’s representatives, manpower training, acceptance test for cables and other materials, inspection of cable deployment route).
2) FOL deployment
3) FOL installation
4) Insertion loss testing, FOL installation quality control.
Note: depending on fiber optic installation procedure (OPGW, buried or aerial) all above stages are divided into the sub stages.
