OHSAS Standard, a part of the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) and its accompanying document OHSAS 18002, Guidelines for the Implementation of OHSAS 18001:2007, were developed in response to consumer demands for a recognized occupational health and safety management system standard to evaluate and certify their management systems.
OHSAS 18001 was developed to be compatible with ISO 9001:2000 (for quality management systems) and ISO 14001:2004 (for environmental management systems) in order to make it easier for organizations to integrate quality management, environmental management and health and safety management systems if an organization chooses to do so.
